Designing a mobile app to help assist customers in ordering coffee in advance.
Company: This is a fictional company to complete my Google UX course. The Beany Coffee is a coffee shop established in 2020.

Project Overview: Designed a user-friendly mobile app for a coffee shop to help streamline the ordering process and improve customer satisfaction.
Target Audience: Adult coffee drinkers and baristas

Goal: The goal was to reduce wait times, simplify ordering, and boost customer retention through a more intuitive and efficient experience.
Problem Statement: Customers often experience long lines during peak hours, order mix-ups, and inconsistent communication about pickup times. The shop lacked a streamlined system, which meant missed opportunities for order efficiency.
User Research.
Research Goals:
Before conducting interviews, our goal is to understand:
- What do you like or dislike about ordering coffee through an app?
- How do you customize your order (e.g., milk, sweetness, temperature)?
- What’s most important to you when ordering ahead (e.g., speed, accuracy, pickup timing)?
- Could you describe your experience when ordering coffee?
- Could you recall a time when ordering coffee was frustrating?
Methods Used:
- Interviews: 3 interview sessions with coffee drinkers and 2 interview sessions with baristas
Key Insights:
- Long Waits: Working adults are often in a rush to get to work and prefer to avoid long lines during peak hours
- Group Orders: Many customers frequently purchase coffee for coworkers or friends
- Visuals and Descriptions: Users like images and descriptions of what they’re ordering to better understand what to expect before making a decision

I created a clean, intuitive UI with key features:
- Streamlined Checkout: Quick and easy checkout process integrating with Apple Pay
- Re-ordering: Easily re-order drinks in bulk or individually without the need to re-customize orders
- Imagery and Description: Displaying coffee images and description
- Estimated Pickup Time: Displaying the ordering process of when to pick up their drinks
